I am delighted to be able to thank the New South Wales Government for its commitment to assisting Defence force veterans. To have employed 1,094 veterans into new roles in the NSW Public Sector is a remarkable achievement and a clear demonstration of the determination and commitment to supporting veterans. I have no hesitation in recommending the Veterans Employment Program to anyone transitioning from ADF service. As the senior ADF officer responsible for transition, I know transitioning from ADF service can be a challenging period of time for some people and their families; the Veterans Employment Program has taken the time to understand the exceptional skills of our ADF veterans and enabled employment options that leverage these skills. Well thought out programs, such as the NSW Veteran Employment Program, go a long way to supporting our people who have served their country and also benefit employers.
