To serve is a fundamental element of employment within the Australian Defence Force; the understanding that we all at some point will transition from Defence service is critical.
I commend the fantastic work being done by the NSW Government – Veterans Employment Program. The transition from service to civilian employment can be a daunting prospect for many veterans, regardless of their rank, skills or length of experience. The support and assistance provided by this program ensures veterans have access to the tools and support that enable their successful transition journey.
The NSW Government’s target of 1000 veterans employed in new roles by 2023 while impressive; is simply overshadowed by the 18 month achievement data – 644 veterans recruited into new NSW Government roles. On behalf of the Royal Australian Navy, thank you for your support and Bravo Zulu.
