Become a council to support veterans
How to become a supporter of veterans employment in your council?
Complete all of the following:
- a note on your website “We understand the skills and attributes, veterans can bring to our council”
- Some councils have put a lot more information including links to our program and the Local Government Rank to Grade Guide.
- have the below veteran indicator question on all applications.
- Have you served in the Australian Defence Force?” with a drop-down box, yes, no and not specified.
- Commit to provide specific application feedback if a veteran request it.
- This can be as simple as please reach out to the NSW Veterans Employment Program for further support with your application and interview techniques.
By showing your support to Veterans Employment we will:
- have your council linked on our webpage
- you will also include in our bi-annual Local Government Working Group meetings, where we aim to support local council employment.
- promote opportunities within your council to our network.
